Whidbey Dogtrot

Sheltered below a common shed roof, a compact house and art studio overlook Saratoga Passage on Whidbey Island.

Organized as a “dogtrot” house, the 1,020-square-foot living quarters and the 348-square-foot studio share a breezeway that anchors circulation through the site and frames territorial views. A future guest quarters added to the existing garage will create a second dogtrot house with a south facing shed roof that will be used for PV production and Net Zero performance. The house is currently under construction with completion expected spring 2019.
